FOREST PROPERTY
Nestled in the heart of the Bavarian Forest, surrounded by its own estate woods and near the town of Regen, lies the FORSTGUT chalet village. A place that seems to have been left behind by time. No scheduled activities, no noise, no excess. Just the forest, silence, and the wonderful feeling of being exactly where you belong. Those who come here aren’t looking for a vacation in the traditional sense—but for a true break. And they find it.
Where nature and architecture speak the same
languageSeven forest chalets and five premium suites are arranged around the central courtyard, forming a harmonious ensemble of wood, glass, and clean lines. Large floor-to-ceiling windows bring the forest into the room, while warm, natural materials create an atmosphere that is instantly inviting. The luxury chalets for two to four people feature a private spa area with a sauna and rain shower, a fireplace, and a hot tub on the covered terrace. The premium suites at FORSTGUT.LODGE boast a freestanding bathtub, a private sauna, and a panoramic view stretching far into the treetops.
This extraordinary hideaway was initiated by Cornelia and Frank von Schnurbein, who make their vision evident in every detail: to experience nature mindfully, harmonizing meaning and sensuality. To create a place for couples, friends, and families who truly want to unwind.
Sustainable down to the last detail
At FORSTGUT, sustainability is not just lip service, but a lived conviction. During construction, the hosts relied exclusively on local craftsmen and handcrafted solid wood furniture made from native woods such as beech, fir, and oak. All buildings stand on environmentally friendly point foundations. Photovoltaic systems on the roofs cover 95 percent of the electricity needs, and the entire heating requirement is met by a wood chip heating system fueled by waste from the estate’s own forestry operations. The surrounding estate forest is being actively reforested with climate-resilient mixed tree species such as beech, oak, and Atlas cedar. Even the water comes from the estate’s own springs in the protected forest area.
Culinary Excellence Without Compromise
The day at FORSTGUT begins just as it should: relaxed. Every morning, a lovingly assembled breakfast basket filled with regional products, fresh rolls, and fine specialties awaits right outside the door. For lunch and dinner, FORSTGUT goes its own way. Instead of a traditional restaurant, there are high-quality convenience meals available around the clock in the lounge, which can be prepared in the chalet in no time—no reservation required, entirely at your own pace. The menu combines Bavarian roots with modern food trends, offering choices such as tender game goulash with quinces from our own hunt, aromatic lentil dal with coconut milk, or velvety carrot-thyme soup. Great alternatives include the cheese fondue or the varied grill package. The Deep Green Lounge, with its earthy tones and honesty bar, invites you to linger and enjoy a glass of wine to round off the evening.
Nature as a constant companion
The FORSTGUT is located in the heart of the Bavarian Forest Nature Park, with its extensive network of approximately 7,000 kilometers of marked hiking trails. In winter, snowshoe tours and cross-country ski trails beckon; in warmer months, gentle bike rides and challenging trail biking routes. Those who prefer a quieter pace can find their spot on one of the sun loungers among the trees, while forest bathing, doing a yoga session on the platform in the woods, or simply doing nothing.
