Chiemgauhof Lakeside Retreat
Since February 2025, the Chiemgau region has had a new premier destination for the simple joys of life. Located directly on the shores of beautiful Lake Chiemsee, the Chiemgauhof Lakeside Retreat—a member of "Leading Hotels of the World"—sets the standard for lakeside luxury.
This luxurious retreat—designed by Milanese architect Matteo Thun—blends harmoniously into the lakeside setting with its striking wooden architecture. It carries on the tradition of the old Chiemgauhof, which for decades was the jewel of the lake. The style of the new Chiemgauhof, built from various local woods, combines the region’s heritage with the benefits of modern hospitality.
With just 28 suites, a conscious decision was made to encourage a slower pace of life. Each suite faces the lake and has its own unique features. Whether it’s a panoramic window with a cozy windowsill for relaxing or a small private garden, gas fireplaces and a private sauna, or alcove beds and a large rooftop terrace—everyone will find their own dream spot here. The “Bootshaus” is available for parties and other events. Swimming, the gym, yoga, golf... from the heated 18-meter-long outdoor pool, it’s just a few steps across the dock to take a dive into the lake or set out on a trip in the exclusive electric boat, go stand-up paddleboarding, and more.
Tradition and modernity also blend in the culinary realm. At the Chiemgauhof restaurant, Florian Litza and Louis Wiegand, under the guidance of Culinary Director and 3-Michelin-starred Chef Edip Sigl, combine regional ingredients with creative sophistication; the Lakeside Bar offers fresh sushi and refreshing drinks.
