Alpenhof Murnau
3rd Place: Enchanting natural beauty, excellent event services, and regional cuisine delight guests at this country inn. Take a break from the stress of everyday life at the Alpenhof Murnau.
Culinary Delights
While the Alpenhof Murnau does not boast a Hofbräuhaus of its own, it does present the Panorama Restaurant Murnauer Reiter. High-quality fabrics and materials—from linen and leather to wood and rock—combined with reeds and grasses bring the Murnauer Moos right to your table at this restaurant on Lake Staffelsee. Here, you’ll find down-to-earth Bavarian specialties made from the finest ingredients. But foodies needn’t miss out on occasional international highlights like Nebraska beef or monkfish. Once again, the restaurant has earned accolades for its cuisine from Fallstaff and Gusto. The well-stocked wine cellar is worth a visit; with 1,000 selections from all over Europe, it ranks among the ten best wine lists in Germany. While the wine cellar itself cannot be used as an event venue, one of our six conference and event rooms—which accommodates up to 200 people and offers a view of the integrated garden courtyard—is available for that purpose. Additional alluring spaces encompass the expansive sun terrace, the winter garden, the Zirbelstube, and the Reiterzimmer.
Indoor and Outdoor Ambiance
The rooms and suites are cosily appointed, inviting guests to enjoy relaxing, comfortable hours within their private retreats. Yet equally memorable moments await just beyond the doors of this charming hotel. Christian Bär—hotel manager and a native of Murnau—knows the region like the back of his hand and is delighted to share his intimate knowledge of the many special places around the Murnauer Moos. He knows when it is worth climbing the Hörnle to enjoy the 360° panorama, or why one should be at the Ähndl precisely at dusk.
