First mentioned in a document in 1656, the family-run 4-star superior hotel has adorned the Talstraße am Durbach ever since. And even today, the Müller hotelier family is passionate about the tradition of warm hospitality.
The 86 rooms and suites in the historic walls of the venerable half-timbered building, which is surrounded by vineyards, stand for contemporary living culture paired with design and function. Colors such as green and Bordeaux are inspired by the region's typical viticulture and are supported by subtle beige and brown tones that symbolize the theme of earth. Whether for undisturbed work in specially furnished business rooms or for extraordinary moments for two in your own spa suite: numerous loving details, from a bedtime menu to wine cosmetics, are part of the hotel's special living culture.
Under the gastronomic direction of André Tienelt and head chef Fabian Jänsch, the Makidan indulgence concept is imaginative and in love with detail - and always with an eye on regionality: "Black Forest Soul Food". The new Makidan stands for a cuisine that combines local and occasionally global ingredients at a high level and puts the Black Forest in the spotlight. Classic Black Forest cuisine is interpreted in a modern way. The best food is used, mainly from Baden and Alsace, but also from other regions to showcase the global influences of the "Black Forest". Makidan offers external and in-house guests a four-course Makidan menu that changes daily and can also be ordered in a vegetarian or vegan version. As a special experience, the menu can take every guest on a mindfulness journey with the optional fifth course. The wine cellar in the historic vaulted cellar is framed by around 300 wines, which come from Durbach and the region in an environmentally friendly and resource-conserving manner, or from organic and biodynamic viticulture. The 1,200 m² wellness area is the perfect place to relax. Five different saunas and steam baths, a pool, sun terrace and several relaxation areas are available.
