Anyone who has a soft spot for cooking shows knows him: star chef Holger Bodendorf, host of Landhaus Stricker, appears telegenically on TV and conveys good humor in cooking shows. But what he also shows is his considerable knowledge as a chef, his creativity in the kitchen and, as a result, he is a successful advertiser for his hotel.
Landhaus Stricker is located in Tinnum on the island of Sylt. The first impression is disconcerting. A train roars right next to the 5-star superior and the main road is not far away. However, once you enter the grounds of the house, which was built in the typical island style of an East Frisian house in 1784, a special world opens up. Nestled in a lush garden with shady trees, flowering shrubs and a small pond are the main house and the historic barn with the restaurants.
"Where 18 Gault Millau points meet four sparkling Varta diamonds and are illuminated by a heavenly Michelin star, you will find the Sylt star restaurant BODENDORF'S" - a quote that describes it all. Holger Bodendorf has cooked his way into the premier league. The award-winning restaurant is only open when the busy chef is actually on site. But then you will be rewarded with delicacies. Open only four days a week from summer 2022 and with a new minimalist kitchen line, but no less exciting for that. The SIEBZEHN84 restaurant also serves outstanding dishes. This is also where the exquisite breakfast menu is served for house guests and in the evening they, or anyone who likes to eat well, can enjoy selected menus. Modern paintings adorn the walls and the ancient beams of the historic barn stretch across the ceiling.
Anyone lucky enough to get their hands on a maisonette is privileged. The living room on the ground floor is stylishly and timelessly furnished. From here, you can step directly onto a small terrace and disappear into a beach chair with a good book in your hand. A narrow staircase leads to the bedroom, which is just as luxuriously and comfortably furnished as the first floor.
The entire wellness area is laid out with elegant parquet flooring, which definitely puts you in a good mood. The spacious indoor pool is bathed in daylight through a window from above, while a separate corridor leads to the sauna and steam bath facilities. Of course, Landhaus Stricker also has a fitness room.
