The dining experience is equally distinguished: The Überfahrt restaurant reopened in September 2024 under the direction of Cornelia Fischer, then the reigning “Chef of the Year” in the Schlemmer-Atlas, and immediately earned three red toques in the 2025 Gault&Millau guide. Il Barcaiolo, recognised with two black toques by Gault&Millau, serves traditional dishes from Northern Italy with a refined twist. At Egerner Bucht—awarded one black toque and overlooking the bay of the same name—Chef de Cuisine Walter Leufen transforms the treasures of the Alps into classic dishes, following the farm-to-table principle. The Bayernstube delights guests with traditional Bavarian cuisine. In addition, the Fährhütte 14, situated in a prime location on the lakeshore and also awarded a black toque, offers fine dining in an ambiance that blends the feel of a boathouse with that of a beach lounge.
Following extensive modernization, Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt unveiled the “4 elements spa by Althoff” in August 2026. The four elements—water, fire, air, and earth—serve as the design theme for the various areas. Facilities encompass private lake access and a 28-metre indoor pool that the hotel claims is among the largest in Germany. Guests may also retreat to light-filled relaxation areas and a newly redesigned sauna and fitness zone. The concept further encompasses activities in and around the water—from sauna, Reformer Pilates, and functional training to beauty treatments, yoga, and meditation.
