THE FONTENAY Hamburg
A tribute to the Hanseatic city: THE FONTENAY Hamburg strikes a balance between nature and urban life right in the heart of the metropolis—a city resort in the heart of the city.
Building on green
Hamburg architect Jan Störmer drew inspiration from the surrounding area for the building’s amorphous form. The three interlocking circles evoke the crowns of large trees; there is no “back”—rather, THE FONTENAY Hamburg is surrounded by greenery on all sides. At the heart of the property are a landscaped courtyard and the 27-meter-high atrium. In the 130 rooms and suites, with their semicircular walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, and 2.60-meter-high ceilings, select designer furniture, fine wood floors, and warm colors create a cozy atmosphere. Decorative objects from the Danish industrial design brand Georg Jensen and original works of art by the Peruvian painter Antonio Máro complement the harmony.
Gourmet delights guaranteed to delight
The highlight of this luxury hotel is the rooftop area on the 6th and 7th floors. Here you’ll find the two-Michelin-starred Lakeside, which serves cosmopolitan cuisine with French roots, and the Fontenay Bar, where guests can enjoy exciting drinks accompanied by live music. On the ground floor, the Parkview garden restaurant captivates with its casual yet refined atmosphere and summer terrace offering a prime view of the Alster. In the Atrium Lounge, delicious afternoon tea creations from the patisserie are served. Brand new: Osteria due offers Italian cuisine that evokes memories and creations that surprise.
Immerse yourself in wellness bliss
Luxury is also the order of the day in the 1,000-square-meter wellness area with its exclusive City Spa. Guests can relax in saunas, steam baths, under sensory showers, and while swimming in the indoor/outdoor infinity pool with a view of the city. Those seeking more privacy can book the private spa suite, which features its own sauna, duo steam bath, whirlpool, and double day bed.
