SO/ Berlin The Stue Hotel
Fancy a little trip around the world in the middle of Berlin? Then a stay at the boutique hotel SO/Berlin Das Stue is just the thing.
Unique
As a guest, you can buy tickets for Berlin Zoo at reception and enter through a private entrance. You can also simply take a seat at the bar and watch the wildebeest and ostriches in their enclosures from your stool. Or you can go on an "animal" art walk through the private collection of one of the hotel owners and discover leather tortoises, a wooden crocodile as well as giraffes and orangutans made of colorful wire mesh.
Extraordinary
Translated from Danish, the term "Stue", which is pronounced roughly like "Schtuhe", means "living room" - a good name for a boutique hotel whose cozy, elegant ambience was created by top Spanish designer Patrizia Urquiola. Guests stay in 78 rooms and suites, which are extremely individual due to their former use as embassy rooms. Some of the junior suites are equipped with large skylights in the roof and additional windows at ankle to knee height, while the elegant Bel-Etage suite boasts an 80 m2 roof terrace and ceilings up to five meters high.
The Susanne Kaufmann SPA on 260 m² impresses with a 14 meter pool with sauna, two single and one couple treatment room with daylight.
Delicious
If you end the evening at the bar or in The Casual restaurant, you might even experience an animal surprise or two. When looking out of the window, you may well catch a glimpse of the impressive ostriches from the adjacent enclosures at Berlin Zoo. On warm summer nights, the lushly planted terrace comes to life and rounds off the Berlin experience perfectly.
