The façade made of natural stone and glass forms the basic structure of our hotel in the center of Hamburg, which was built in 2001. At the beginning of 2018, the SIDE was completely modernized and equipped with the latest technology, again under the direction of designer Matteo Thun. The absolute highlight is the 28 m high atrium.
You can feel the special atmosphere as soon as you enter the hotel. Even after almost two decades, the impressive light installation by Robert Wilson still casts its warm, golden light on arriving guests. The reception desk - resting on a bronze plinth - combines elegance with surprising comfort. A small seating area with hand-woven fabric discreetly rounds off the reception area.
In the rooms and suites, pastel-colored upholstered furniture, handmade Tuscan vases and fine Murano glass sparrows set stylish accents. The rest remains in clear white - because a touch of coolness is a must.
In search of the ultimate wow effect, guests are drawn to the Sky Lounge on the 8th floor. The roof terrace offers a fantastic view over Hamburg and is often hired for events. In culinary terms, the steaks from Lower Saxony, Argentina and the USA in the [m]eatery restaurant are impressive. Guests will find dishes inspired by numerous cuisines - Asian and Oriental - on their plates. Another highlight is the spa area: a place full of energy and joie de vivre, underlined by vibrant colors. Whether in the spacious pool with integrated Jacuzzi, in the sauna or in the steam bath - here you can relax and recharge your batteries.
