LA MAISON Hotel & Spa
A design hotel blending tradition and modernity—the LA MAISON hotel & spa in Saarlouis captivates guests with its charm and character.
High-quality architecture
The historic Grande Dame has gained a modern extension on the north side and cheerfully combines old and new across a total area of 5,000 m². The result is a blend of historicism and modern design language, all slightly inspired by Louis XIV, after whom the city is named. The French influence runs through the entire building, greeting guests in the kitchen as well as in select designer pieces. On the other end of the design spectrum stands the minimalist extension, connected to the main building by an avant-garde spiral staircase. The transition from classic to contemporary is achieved with a playful touch. While one side exudes stylish grandeur, the new building, with its aluminum shutters, takes a backseat, leaving room for (re)interpretation. The hotel was named “Hotel of the Year 2023” by DER FEINSCHMECKER magazine.
Excellent Cuisine
The former courtroom, with direct access to the park terrace, impresses with high ceilings and a stylish ambiance. The LOUIS restaurant offers a sophisticated atmosphere and cuisine under the direction of Chef Sebastian Sandor. The Michelin-starred chef creates his menus using a few select, characterful ingredients. Head sommelier Robert Jankowski serves the perfect wine pairings, focusing on lesser-known, often very traditional wines and regions that can still be rediscovered in Europe. In the casual setting with a total of 22 seats, guests can choose between the LOUIS menu and its vegetarian alternative, Gemüse deluxe. Once again, the creative cuisine was awarded 2 Michelin stars in 2025.
At PASTIS bistro, a feast for the eyes is joined by a feast on the plate: beneath a sky full of pots—which turn out to be lights in the open roof truss—creative, Francophile cuisine is served and enjoyed in a casual setting. This charming total work of art has been awarded the Bib Gourmand in the MICHELIN Guide. The glass-enclosed winter garden transports guests into the great outdoors and offers a natural spectacle—not just when the glass panels are open. One floor down, on the ground floor, PASTIS feinkost has moved in: a small shop with big temptations. Here you’ll find delicacies from the hotel kitchen, crafted in the finest artisanal style. Wine, chutney, and confit are stocked on the shelves by Chef Sebastian Sandor. In the themed suites, culinary delights are interpreted in a cozy way. The “Suite Chocolat” and “Suite Ratatouille” are peppered with creative and colorful references.
A new addition to the bar concept is petit LOUIS, the little brother of the LOUIS restaurant. It serves 14 small creations across seven courses, which can be enjoyed in a relaxed and casual atmosphere, such as the bar or library. Sommelier Robert Jankowski selects the perfect wine pairings, and bar manager Robin Weiss mixes exciting drinks afterward.
For conferences or private celebrations, the LA MAISON hotel & spa offers an event space within its villa that strikes a perfect balance between appeal and functionality. On one hand, the loft-like ambiance and a mosaic-tiled wall provide mental space, while state-of-the-art conference technology ensures a focused environment. On the park level, the PARKBLICK event room impresses as a versatile space with a capacity of up to 60 people. The room can be divided into two units and features a foyer with a walk-in wine cabinet.
New Spa – Francophile Flair Across 2,000 m²
In spring 2025, the LA MAISON hotel & spa in Saarlouis expanded its offerings to include a stylish spa spanning approximately 2,000 square meters. Inspired by the charm of Provence, this new retreat invites guests to enjoy a relaxing break with a heated outdoor pool, three saunas, a light-filled relaxation area, and thoughtfully curated wellness treatments.
A short walk through the grounds from the historic villa and the hotel’s modern extension reveals a sanctuary with Mediterranean flair in a meticulously renovated existing building. A heated outdoor pool forms the centerpiece of the spa garden, surrounded by wooden decks, shady trees, and spacious lounging areas. Inside, guests will find a Finnish sauna, a bio-sauna, and a steam bath with an ice fountain. Wellness zones and a relaxation room with a fireplace, along with a fully glazed façade, also provide ample space for moments of relaxation. The window front opens onto the garden, and a lounge area and a rooftop terrace round out the overall experience.
Christina Beaumont and Achim Gergen are responsible for the interior design. The architects’ signature style is evident throughout; natural materials such as travertine and oiled oak planks, combined with fine natural lime plaster, elegant sand tones, and warm bronze accents, define the clean, elegant design language.
Owner Günter Wagner says of the expansion: “With the new spa, we are setting another milestone for our hotel—and creating a holistic experience that combines design, indulgence, nature, and relaxation.”
