Hotel Zoo Berlin
The former "Hotel am Zoo" was the favorite hostel of Berlinale celebrities in the 1950s. Although its successor does away with the "am" in its name, it still looks absolutely cinematic.
Great cinema
And the movie set look is also quite intentional: After all, in the 1950s, the hotel was considered the favorite hostel of the stars and the unofficial VIP meeting place of the Berlin Film Festival. Dietrich, Romy Schneider and Grace Kelly - everyone with rank, name and top ranking in the film credits stayed here. If you want to feel just like the film divas did back then, all you have to do is get into the elevator and enjoy the Hollywood-like flurry of flashbulbs.
On the upper floors, smart and individual luxury awaits you in the 141 rooms and suites. Wonderfully comfortable and glamorous at the same time: one of the king suites with a brick wall behind the bed, a Bakelite telephone on the desk, an open bathroom and a view of the Kudamm. The other pleasing features are the brightly colored Chesterfield chairs and the art on the wall.
Great art
Dine at GRACE Restaurant, which incidentally owes its name not to the Hollywood actress, but to the wonderfully eccentric Grace Jones. Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis & Sienna Miller have discovered the trendy restaurant for themselves. The ambience is just as crossover-inspired as the Asian burrata on the menu: a touch of Old English gentlemen's club is just as noticeable as New York loft flair. And the delicate, frog-green wire chairs on the terrace make you dream of Palm Springs in the middle of the Kudamm. A small oasis is the winter garden surrounded by industrial windows with a five-meter-long fireplace in the heart of the hotel. Another highlight: the GRACE Rooftop is a roof terrace with a lounge and bar area for up to 100 people.
