Gewandhaus Dresden, Autograph Collection
Since its reopening in 2015, the Gewandhaus Dresden, Autograph Collection has indeed had a new festive look. And in a prime location.
Tasteful
As soon as guests enter the 5-star boutique hotel, they are surrounded by a cheerful and historic ambience that harks back to its original use as a cloth manufacturer. Fine fabrics play just as important a role as cleverly placed brass lamps, antique leather elements and modern designer furniture. The bright and airy character of the building is further enhanced by a green atrium with seating under a huge glass roof. The 97 rooms and suites are more minimalist, both in terms of color scheme and interior design, with lime green and chocolate brown wood setting the tone alongside delicate shades of white.
The elegant marble bathrooms with brass fittings and large mirror surfaces are wonderfully luxurious eye-catchers. Important for fresh air fans who like to sleep with the window open: some of the standard rooms face the covered atrium.
Maker of moments of happiness
The sweet highlight of the house is the cake studio. The macarons, financiers and tarts are not only some of the best, but also some of the most unusual in the city. Don't miss the strawberry and cucumber tart with wafer-thin slices of cucumber marinated in its own broth and glazed strawberries! The [m]eatery bar + restaurant impresses with its stylish and elegant atmosphere and offers, among other things, its own dry-aged steaks from European pasture-raised cattle.
A spa with indoor pool and cardio equipment is available to burn off calories.
