CERÊS BY THE SEA
Harmony at its finest. The exterior and interior of the CERÈS AM MEER redefine resort architecture on the Baltic Sea. A truly stunning sight that now sails under the A-ROSA flag.
“I’ve always loved to travel. But most of the time, I was accompanied by the feeling that I had to move on. Rarely did I feel like I had truly arrived. It was likely this experience that inspired me to build a hotel: the Cerês.” These words come from Moritz Lau-Engehausen. As both architect and developer, he had the CERÈS AM MEER built not only according to his own plans but also entirely to his own taste. The property has now been extensively renovated and has been part of the A-ROSA Collection since December 2023. Karl J. Pojer, CEO of DSR Hotel Holding, is delighted with the new addition: “Our new A-ROSA Collection offers a luxurious, personalized, relaxed, and varied vacation experience at a 5-star level in the very best locations.”
And it presents itself as clear, cool, and minimalist—yet at the same time very elegant: black, white, light gray, and dark anthracite set the tone throughout the house without ever appearing gloomy. On the contrary, there is something calming and meditative about the color palette—as can be admired, for example, in the lounge-like library with a view of the courtyard garden. The heart of the hotel is the lobby on the ground floor, where the reception and bar flow seamlessly into one another, and the restaurant and fireplace lounge invite guests to linger. In the stylish restaurant, guests enjoy exquisite dishes, including many regional delicacies.
Anyone who leaves the hotel after dinner to stretch their legs on the Binz pier will likely notice the brightly lit dome on the roof of the Cerês. Beneath it lies the hotel’s most beautiful suite: 60 m² in size, winner of several design and hotel awards, and offering a panoramic view stretching all the way to the chalk cliffs and up into the Baltic Sea sky. The 37 rooms at the A-ROSA Hotel Ceres am Meer—many of which are spacious suites—are elegantly furnished and feature floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies.
Incidentally, a dip in the warm seawater of the hotel pool is also an experience in itself. It forms the centerpiece of the luxurious A-ROSA Spa, which is entirely dedicated to hydrotherapy and aromatherapy.
