Wilderness Bisate Reserve
Refuge in the realm of the mountain gorillas
The luxury lodge Wilderness Bisate Reserve, which has just four villas, opened a few weeks ago in the north-west of Rwanda. Thanks to its location, it offers a spectacular 360° view of the dormant volcanoes of the Virunga mountain range and is also an ideal starting point for observing the famous mountain gorillas or looking out for golden monkeys and exotic birds along the trails in the Volcanoes National Park.
The exceptional architecture and design of the lodge, inspired by Rwanda's traditional craftsmanship, pay homage to the local culture. The 212 m2 villas have spacious terraces, two fireplaces each, an outdoor hot tub and a separate lounge area. The cuisine at Bisate Reserve combines East African flavors with French influences. The focus is on simplicity and environmental sustainability: "From the earth to the plate" is the motto of chef Angelus Karangwa and his team.
