From Malta to Manhattan
Newly opened on the Upper East Side, New York: The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel.
Founded 55 years ago in Malta, Corinthia Hotels is now taking the big leap from the Mediterranean island to Manhattan, where The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel opened on September 1. Located on the Upper East Side, directly on the corner of 76th St. and Madison Avenue, the hotel can look back on a long history as a residential hotel. JFK lived here, but Bette Davis and Claudette Colbert also enjoyed staying at this celebrity hotel, which always strives to ensure the privacy of its guests.
It is thanks to star designer Martin Brudnizki that after extensive renovation and conversion work there is still a touch of the old glitz and glamor in the 100 to 200 m2 hideaways. A visit to the hotel's exclusive Sisley Spa and the fine Italian cuisine served in "Casa Tua", a branch of the cult Miami restaurant, also promise great pleasure.
