Vidanta World's ELEGANT: On the luxury wave
Is this the most luxurious yacht in the world?
Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons and now the Mexican Vidanta Group: More and more luxury hotel chains are moving from land to water. The latest addition is the Vidanta World's ELEGANT, which is advertised by its owners as "The World's most luxurious Mega Yacht". Is that true? Just 298 guests and almost as many crew members speak for it, as do 13 restaurants and plenty of space on four passenger decks. What speaks against it is the ship's year of construction (1990) and the fact that less than a third of the 149 cabins and suites have their own terraces or balconies. So it's best to see for yourself - either this summer on one of the announced Mediterranean cruises or next winter on a combined resort/ship vacation in the Caribbean. Vidanta is planning to launch its own packages for this purpose, which will include luggage transfer from the room to the cabin as well as a one-off check-in for both the hotel and the ship.
