The Sonnenhof in Lech
New jewel with a rich history
In December 2023, Katia and Gerold Schneider from the renowned Hotel Almhof Schneider opened the "Sonnenhof" chalet in Lech as an exclusive residence with six bedrooms for weekly rentals. The property, an originally preserved Walser house, reflects the origins of the settlement of Lech and was built around 1393, around the same time as the Almhof. Ideally located directly above the valley station of the Hinterwies T-bar lift, the Sonnenhof offers an unspoilt, traffic-free hillside location with views of snow-covered slopes in winter and gentle, flower-filled meadows in summer - a feast for the senses that lives up to its name.
An in-depth historical analysis laid the foundation for the extensive two-year renovation, which preserved the substance of the house and adapted it for its new purpose with the utmost care. The property extends over three floors. Each floor houses a master bedroom with its own bathroom and closet space, while the other rooms share spacious bathrooms with enchanting views of the natural surroundings.
A highlight of the property is undoubtedly the sauna area designed by Shinichiro Ogata in the antique cellar under the parlor. The cellar, which is also original, serves as a pantry and exclusive wine cellar. Also top: the underground garage with four parking spaces, which is perfect for storing ski equipment, among other things.
