The Seezeitlodge

Kraftort for wellness fans

Back to nature

The Celts, whose evidence can still be found today in the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park in the Saarland were known for their mythical worship of nature. The Celtic festivals were based on the course of the sun, celestial events and seasons determined the rhythm of life. This millennia-old heritage has been incorporated into the unique hotel concept of the Seezeitlodge Hotel & Spa which is located just a few kilometers from the famous Celtic ring wall in Otzenhausen in the south of Germany. By planning the area in such a way that an intensive connection to the natural poles of tension was maintained, the stimulating forces continue to work undisturbed here. One such very special place is the Celtic outdoor sauna village with ritual place, incense and fireplace, which is also used for the yoga training and mental program .

Wellness worlds with a view

The Seezeitlodge has doubled its spa landscape to a total of 5,000 square meters in 2023. As a new highlight, an idyllic natural bathing pond was created next to the Celtic outdoor sauna village which offers very special favorite spots with extended sunbathing areas - for example in one of the cozy and covered daybeds. Here, the morning sun entices early risers with a swim as the perfect start to the day. A new relaxation room and a larger pool terrace provide even more space and relaxation for guests. A special feel-good effect is guaranteed by an exclusively bookable floating pool. Floating in the body-warm brine bath not only creates a unique feeling of weightlessness, it also helps with tension, stress and strengthens the immune system. The newly created spa suite with its own sauna, whirlpool and terrace with daybed offers a particularly private time-out;

Meditating and hiking on paths of happiness

In an idyllic hillside location with a view of Lake Bostal lies another inspiring place: the meditation area "zeitraum" including the happiness hiking trail. The creative concept allows time and space to become visible here: The path crosses the area like a timeline, the wooden decks serve as small islands for meditation and yoga practice. In the woods around the hotel, the poetic way of walking in the woods, the forest bathing, is celebrated. Here the senses open up, the surrounding nature is intensively perceived.

Historical dishes on the plate, homemade gin in the glass

The cuisine at the Seezeitlodge presents itself fresh and with a lot of craftsmanship. Every day bread and pastries are baked in the hotel's own bakery. Head chef Daniel Schöfisch works with regional and seasonal ingredients, prepared with care and without frills. Herbs from the hotel's own garden provide extra flavor. He has an unmistakable preference for preservation methods known to the Celts, such as smoking, pickling and fermenting. After dinner in the LUMI restaurant or on the terrace overlooking the lake the specially produced gin with matching tonics rounds off the evening at the NOX bar or by the fireplace .

The energy is generated in the hotel

The expansion of the Seezeit Spa and all conversion work was carried out in harmony with nature wherever possible. Thus the required energy is generated in an environmentally friendly way with the help of a photovoltaic system and the newly built wood chip plant in the hotel.Further technical innovations ensure that heat evaporated in the swimming pool can be fed back into the pool heating system. When building the Seezeitlodge the hosts Kathrin and Christian Sersch opted for concrete core activation. Slats on the façade adapt to the solar radiation and ensure climate-neutral cooling. The diverse commitment to the environment was recognized with the leading sustainability certificate for the hotel industry GreenSign .
Overnight rates at the Seezeitlodge start at 418 euros for two people with Seezeit cuisine in the feel-good bunk and can vary depending on the season.
