Daydreams in the Salzkammergut

12 new suites at Seehotel Das Traunsee

Salzkammergut" or "Daydreams": In the 12 new suites at Seehotel Das Traunsee, the name says it all. The family-run hideaway in the Salzkammergut offers waterfront living in a direct lakeside location.

Heavenly bedding: The new suites with their high-quality design in elegant shades of brown and green provide even more style and relaxing daydreams in the daybed with panoramic window. Thanks to the open room design, Lake Traunsee is always in view. The individually furnished mini suites called "TAGTRAUM" and the stylish "Salzkammergut suites", all with a balcony on the lake side, are an oasis of peace to "marvel at the landscape" and invite you to do sweet nothing. The idyllic village of Traunkirchen is framed by green-blue water and lies at the foot of the majestic Traunstein mountain. The 1,000-year-old monastery, the famous Fischerkanzl of the parish church or the Calvary - it's well worth exploring the town.

Enjoyment is a tradition at Seehotel Das Traunsee. The historic walls were once used as a brewery by the Jesuits. The Gröller family took over the charming hotel in the early 1970s and indulgence has always played an important role. With Lukas Nagl on board, the boathouse has developed into a culinary hotspot in recent years. The 4-toque restaurant is built directly on a boathouse and the unique location on a peninsula offers a spectacular stage during a culinary journey with the theme "in the change of values". A new feature is the front cooking area, where guests can look over the shoulders of the professionals as they pass on interesting facts about cooking techniques, cooking methods, food processing and recipes to trainee chefs and staff.

Lake Traunsee is also just a stone's throw away from the exclusive lakeside spa with beauty area, panoramic lakeside sauna, soft sauna, infrared cabin, marble steam bath and ice grotto. Guided alpine hikes and the rental of kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, e-bikes, mountain bikes and a sailing boat ensure a varied vacation.

Owner Monika Gröller lives out her flair for "everything beautiful" in the hotel and restaurant and the fine Greisslerei. Her husband Wolfgang Gröller is host, landlord and tour guide all in one and usually at the same time. No sooner has he been in the restaurant than you see him back at the lake, where he shows guests his homeland - "his Salzkammergut" with its countless hiking opportunities and traditional customs - on the Plätte, a traditional wooden boat.
