A Summer Getaway at the Estate—Plenty of Vacation Fun Combining the Lake, Biking, Golf, and the Mountains

Hotel GUT Trattlerhof & ****Chalets

Once upon a time—and still true today—the Hotel GUT Trattlerhof & Chalets, since 1642, has been a celebration of the good life. Then as now, this country estate unites the finest elements: nature, activity, indulgence, and that ineffable sensation best captured by “I feel GUT.”

New for summer 2026: Even more opportunities to savour exactly that. Two new bike trails, complimentary green fees for hotel guests, and the Carinthia & Sunshine Card make the Trattlerhof the perfect starting point for mountains of vacation fun. From May through early June, as well as in October and November, admission to the thermal spa is included. During the summer, the St. Kathrein Thermal Spa also extends a “4=2” invitation: a four-hour pass for the price of a two-hour pass (applicable to both the thermal spa and the thermal spa + sauna).

When the sun rises over the Carinthian Nockberge Mountains, a summer day begins that feels deeply connected to life. A day that sharpens the senses, invites you to take a deep breath, and lets time slow down just a little.

A diverse range of estate experiences: be active. Or simply let go.

The Trattlerhof—the hotel and the chalets—is both a retreat and a starting point. It is an inviting duet: exert yourself in the mountains, then linger in the forest wellness area with its pool, sauna, and quiet retreats. Guests may begin the day with vigour or simply remain in the present—that is the new luxury. Hiking and biking in the gentle Nockberge means breathing in the mountain air, savouring the joy of life, and rediscovering oneself. From gentle promenades to panoramic summit hikes, a natural experience unfolds that marries active moments with unforgettable impressions.

The Nockberge Mountains around Bad Kleinkirchheim—

from the valley loop trail to ascents of Rosennock or the Wöllaner Nock Circuit—bring guests into intimate contact with nature. In between: nature trails around Lake Windebensee in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, accessible panoramic paths, and an abundance of moments that invite you to pause and absorb the grandeur of the scene. Whether you are a family, a couple, or a solo traveller, a farm-style holiday also means charting your own course. Informational panels recount the story of the flora and fauna, while your gaze drifts over the Nockberge, toward Turracher Höhe, or all the way to Lake Millstatt. Guided hikes, equipment rentals, and impeccably tailored tour recommendations are available right from the farm.

Golf with a view: “stay here – free golf.”

One tee shot, one vista, one moment. Golf at the Trattlerhof means treating yourself to an outrageously good time. Starting in summer 2026, the green fee is included per person per night. Fairways that nestle into the landscape and greens surrounded by mountains and forests. Guests at the Hotel GUT Trattlerhof & Chalets benefit from the proximity to the Bad Kleinkirchheim Golf Arena as well as six other select courses in Carinthia—all within a 45-minute drive—that offer playing opportunities for beginners and pros alike. With the Alpe-Adria Golf Card, they can extend their playing radius to more than 15 courses across Carinthia, Italy, and Slovenia.
Riding

into summer on two wheels

What sparks enthusiasm among guests at the Trattlerhof? Often, it is the urge to cycle. With more than 300 kilometers of mountain-bike trails, 550 kilometers of leisure routes, and over 45 kilometers of singletrack, the region emerges as a genuine biker’s paradise. As a member of the NOCKBIKE partner network, Bad Kleinkirchheim stands as the ideal starting point for those who prefer to explore the Nockberge on two wheels.

A standout feature is the Flow Country Trail from Kaiserburg—stretching some 15 kilometers, it ranks among the longest of its kind in Europe. Undulations, banked turns, and sweeping curves deliver a fluid riding experience that entices both novices and seasoned cyclists. New for summer 2026, two additional single-track trails will further expand the offering and infuse the terrain with fresh excitement.

Whether you’re gliding effortlessly on an e-bike beside shimmering lakes or testing your limits on demanding ascents—here, panoramic vistas and an exhilarating rush converge. And somewhere in between, a welcoming spot to pause and rejuvenate awaits—one pleasure leading

seamlessly

to the next.

Lake, Thermal Baths, Family Time—Pure GUT

Just a few minutes from the Trattlerhof: Lake Millstatt. A place where one might happily put down roots. Guests can swim, take a boat out on the water, or simply daydream at the Trattlerhof Park Beach. The two local thermal spas in Bad Kleinkirchheim invite visitors to slow down, exhale, and breathe a sigh of relief. As the day draws to a gentle close, the estate serves up whatever nature and the season have to offer—regional, delicious, and imbued with an intuitive sense of what truly does you good. For families, delightful vacation ideas abound at every turn: gentle hiking trails, immersive nature experiences, and shared adventures. At the Gutshof, animals assume a particularly cherished role. The ponies, in particular, bring immense delight to many young guests. Petting them, leading them, or even baking pony cookies together—the pony farm is a place where children can discover their love for animals. At the on-site riding stable, beginners and advanced riders alike learn how to handle horses properly—with sensitive guidance and at their own pace.

A child of sorrow? Certainly not at the Trattlerhof. The

Carinthia & Sunshine Card: Also included—

good to know: With the included Carinthia & Sunshine Card, more than 100 excursion destinations become accessible—from daily mountain rides, boat trips, and panoramic drives to adventure parks and thermal spa admissions. A card that transforms possibilities into experiences. And turns vacation days into authentic farmstead tales.

A farmstead that unites

The Hotel GUT Trattlerhof & Chalets is deeply rooted in its history while remaining firmly in the present. A rustic farmstead that exudes fresh modernity. A place where the “Hofleut’” welcome guests with open-hearted warmth. A place that brings together: tradition with the spirit of the times, nature with indulgence, activity with serenity.

In 2025, Trattlerhof underwent a considered renovation. A central element of this project was the guest rooms. A total of 17 rooms were comprehensively redesigned—not to increase capacity, but to rethink the existing space more thoughtfully. Rooms were enlarged, layouts opened up, and the sense of comfort was noticeably enhanced. The result is more space, more light, and a clean, modern aesthetic that defines the new look. Natural materials from the region, warm colors, and subtle details blend alpine character with contemporary design. It is a renovation that makes a subtle impact—and is all the more compelling for it. And that is precisely the sensation you carry home with you: arriving, taking a deep breath, and sometimes simply staying longer than you planned. www.trattlerhof.at
