Expansion of the loyalty program

The Skywards loyalty program from Emirates and flydubai has won numerous awards and offers its members many benefits. Now, with the introduction of the global online subscription platform Skywards+, the 27 million members will have even easier access to even more attractive rewards and other privileges.

Test passed

Testing for Skywards+ began back in 2019. Initially, selected members had the chance to try out the offer. Now the service is available to all registered and active Emirates Skywards members. Participation is simple: from an annual fee of USD 399, members can register for Skywards+ on emirates.com. They can then enjoy benefits such as bonus Skywards miles, bonus tier miles, discounted upgrade awards, access to airport lounges, discounted Cash + Miles fares and much more.
Skywards+ is being launched with three individual packages. While the Classic package is available from the aforementioned USD 399, the Advanced package costs USD 699 and the Premium package USD 999 per year. In the Classic package, members enjoy 20 percent bonus Skywards miles, access to the Emirates Business Class Lounge twice a year and an additional 5 kg free baggage allowance. The Advanced Package offers a 20 percent discount on upgrade awards, 10 kg of additional baggage allowance or one additional piece for checked baggage and access to the Emirates Business Class Lounge five times a year.


The Premium package promises the maximum bonus. It allows members to achieve Tier status faster, with a 20 percent Tier Miles bonus, a 20 percent discount on flight upgrades and access to the Emirates Business Class Lounge ten times a year. In addition, Premium Members can check in an extra 10 kg of free baggage or an extra piece of checked baggage.

Emirates Skywards

Emirates' loyalty program is an industry leader. It offers first-class and innovative offers, and was one of the first in the world to offer its members an extension of tier status until 2022, and the validity of Skywards miles, which have been expiring since April 2020, has also been extended until the end of the year. Skywards offers four tiers of membership. Each tier, from Blue to Silver and Gold to Platinum, is associated with exclusive privileges. Miles can be earned with partners such as airlines, hotels, car rental companies, financial, leisure and lifestyle brands. These can be spent on flight tickets, hotel stays, sporting and cultural events and other goodies.
