Six Senses Ibiza from July 2021
The brand's first Spanish hotel opens on Xarraca Bay
The northern tip of Xarraca Bay, just 35 minutes from the airport, is a special place. Here, on the white rocks, surrounded by the blue of the ocean and with an uninterrupted view of the sunset, the long-awaited Six Senses Ibiza has been built in recent months. In July 2021, it will join the portfolio of the brand, which currently consists of 16 hotels and resorts and 25 spas. Six Senses Ibiza also upholds the values of responsibility for sustainability, unconventional design and unique experiences.
Sustainability in paradise
The new Six Senses Ibiza is a symbol of light, beauty and the natural rhythm of the seasons. Surrounded by pristine bays and green forests, it was built in the typical finca style. Natural materials from the region were used to build the resort. The fusion of traditional construction methods and modern design has resulted in an estate of 116 suites and (beach) villas on the eight-hectare site, which hug the contours of the bay. Those who don't just want to come on vacation but want to stay for longer can purchase a Village Residence with terrace, garden and pool.
"Our vision is to experience the authentic Ibiza, such as community, spirituality and celebration," says Jonathan Leitersdorf, the architect and developer of the project, explaining the guiding principle behind the design. Six Senses was the first resort in the Balearic Islands to achieve BREEAM certification, the oldest and most widely used certification for sustainable construction. "Sustainability is a big part of our company ethos," affirms Neil Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer of Six Senses. "And when you find a magical place like Cala Xarraca, you work really hard to respect and showcase it. That's what makes Six Senses Ibiza so special."
Unforgettable experiences
What also makes Six Senses Ibiza special is what it offers its guests. For example, there will be the first European restaurant by celebrity chef Eyal Shani, founding father of the new Israeli cuisine, as well as a total of four organic restaurants. Comprehensive retreats and a large spa with a range of healing and prevention programs, a state-of-the-art fitness area, rooftop yoga deck and boxing ring, galleries, an in-house recording studio and music venue Beach Caves, a novel retail concept and sophisticated experiences complete the experiences at the new Six Senses Ibiza.
Island life takes center stage during the summer season. Culinary adventures, pop-up events and full moon dinners make for unforgettable moments. In the cooler season, the focus is on deep spiritual experiences with yoga, fitness and cleansing of body and mind. All guests and residents enjoy personalized service through their own Guest Experience Maker and can also conveniently book numerous amenities via the Six Senses app.
