Savoy Palace: luxury hotel opens in Madeira
The only member of the "Leading Hotels of the World" opens on the island of flowers.
Luxurious facilities, outstanding cuisine, artistic architecture that pays homage to the island and impressive views: The new five-star Savoy Palace Hotel in Funchal aims to set new standards in the hotel industry on the flower island of Madeira. Built on the site of the very first Savoy Hotel in 1912, guests will experience the timeless style of the Belle Époque combined with the most modern comforts in the Savoy Palace's 352 rooms and suites, congress center, spa with gym and two restaurants and bars. The luxury hotel, which will be the only member of the "Leading Hotels of the World" in Madeira, will open its doors to its first guests in July.
Exclusive architecture and furnishings
Just a few minutes away from the attractions, museums and restaurants of Funchal, the new Savoy Palace towers over Madeira's capital. It offers spectacular views of the surrounding gardens and the sea at the site of the island's first Savoy Hotel in 1912. Inside the new Savoy Palace, modernity meets history: the exclusive interior was designed by Nini Andrade Silva and RH+ Arquitectos. The interior designer combines the style of the Belle Époque with themes and materials typical of the island. These influences include the shapes of the historic irrigation channels, known as levadas, the fine art of Madeiran embroidery and weaving, as well as viticulture. The architecture in the lobby area is particularly impressive, with an impressive chandelier and a large mirror welcoming guests. The public areas are decorated in bright, clear tones, with soft shapes symbolizing animals and plants and ornaments reminiscent of Art Nouveau. Depending on the type of traveler, each floor of the Savoy Palace offers its own exclusive atmosphere: some of the 352 rooms and suites are designed with plenty of open space, others exude a more intimate atmosphere - they all entice guests with high-quality materials and exclusivity. In keeping with its name, the Savoy Palace in Funchal is reminiscent of a palace, where colors, fabrics and shapes blend together.
Room to feel good
The rooms and suites at the Savoy Palace range from 40 to 260 square meters and offer guests plenty of space with separate living and office areas The custom-made furniture and exceptional suites, some of which have their own pool, ensure exclusive comfort.
