Lufthansa is investing 2.5 billion euros in 30,000 new seats. And offers no fewer than 14 seat options in four classes.
Lufthansa chose the capital city of Berlin to present its new on-board innovations for wide-body aircraft. The "Allegris" product generation is intended to provide a new travel experience in all classes on long-haul routes.
From 2024, the "Suite Plus" can be described as a flying private room in First Class, for example. A separate double cabin with ceiling-high walls and a lockable door, a large table and two wide seats that can be combined into a comfortable double bed if required.
The new Business Class is also impressive. For the first time, guests in Lufthansa Business Class also have their own suite. Passengers can choose from a total of seven seating options, depending on whether they want an extra-long bed with a length of 2.20 meters, extra space and a work surface, a seat with a baby seat or simply an exclusive seat right by the window. Will passengers be able to cope with this variety of offers? Lufthansa Airlines CEO Jens Ritter in conversation with Connoisseur Circle. "There are already options to choose between First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class or different fares and seats with more legroom. Now we are offering our passengers even more options - in all travel classes."
There is also a new Premium Economy Class, which was already introduced at SWISS in spring 2022. The "Allegris" seat offers more legroom, a fold-out leg rest and can be reclined even further than the current model. In normal Economy Class, passengers will in future have the option of booking seats in the first rows with more legroom or a free adjacent seat. There are a total of four booking options to choose from, including Sleeper's Row, where three seats can be turned into a small bed with a cushion and a support. With so much news, the question naturally arises as to whether there are any ideas for catering? Such as flying chefs? They are working on new concepts, they simply say.
In future, the "Allegris" offer will not only equip over 80 new aircraft such as the Boeing 787-9, Airbus A350 and Boeing 777-9. Aircraft already in service, such as the Boeing 747-8, will also be upgraded to the new standards. The largest product and service offensive in the history of the Lufthansa Group is to be implemented by 2025.
