Premiere: Le Méridien in the Maldives

Opening on Thilamaafushi on August 1

When Le Méridien opens its 145-villa resort Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa on Thilamaafushi on August 1, it will be a first for the European-inspired brand. The island resort is located just 35 minutes from Malé in the southwest of the Lhaviyani Atoll.

Vacation with the glamour factor

Guests can easily reach the nine-hectare island by seaplane. They can expect an island that has all the attributes of a "typical" Maldives resort: white sandy beaches, turquoise blue water, pools sparkling in the sun, palm trees and endless shades of blue. But there is also a touch of nostalgia and the mid-century design aesthetic of the Parisian brand. Nostalgic echoes of times when travel was still something particularly glamorous can also be found in the interior language of Le Méridien Maldives Resort & Spa. Simplicity, openness and functionality characterize both the communal areas and the various villas. Clean lines, muted colors, elements made from renewable raw materials and architecture inspired by Maldivian culture complete the ensemble.

Guests enjoy the Le Méridien service in villas with one or two bedrooms, either on the tropical beach or over the water. Families and groups choose the Thilamaafushi Villa. It is located on its own small section of the island, offering plenty of privacy. Three bedrooms are available. For families, the Le Méridien Family and Kids' Club offers a variety of exciting activities. Little explorers can take part in guided nature walks, garden in the greenhouse, take painting classes and learn interesting facts about the Maldives.

The new island resort also leaves nothing to be desired when it comes to culinary delights. Six restaurants and bars offer a mix of specialties from around the world as well as regional ingredients. At the Explore Spa by Le Méridien, the therapists help you to achieve deep relaxation with a range of high-quality products and treatments. Fans of Le Méridien may be familiar with the Signature program, which is reminiscent of the glamour of a summer on the French Riviera. In future, this will also be available in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
