PATINA: Visionary Maldives resort
Biophilic design on the Fari Islands
When the renowned Capella Hotel Group launched Patina Hotels & Resorts as a new brand in its portfolio, it promised great things: it was aimed at a new generation of travelers and wanted to combine trendsetting design with personal flair and an individual touch. PATINA Maldives, the brand's first resort on the Fari Islands, will open in the second quarter of 2021. And it is already clear that the island hideaway will not only meet the highest standards, but will also be underpinned by a deep appreciation of the environment.
Inspired by nature
Low architectural lines out of respect for the overwhelming blue of the sea and sky, open, bright communal areas, airy design of all buildings, flowing transitions between indoors and outdoors, muted colors, subtle textures and matte surfaces: with the PATINA Maldives, Brazilian star architect Marcio Kogan has created an impressive example of biophilic design. Together with his internationally award-winning design studio MK27, he has skillfully implemented a building design that connects people with nature. People are at the heart of the design - it picks up on the different moods of the guests and adapts to their different moods with intuitive and personal service.
You can choose from a total of 90 contemporary beach and water pool villas with up to three bedrooms. There are also 20 Fari Studios available. These are somewhat secluded and offer the ideal mix of island life and privacy. All studios and villas, restaurants and outbuildings bear Kogan's unmistakable signature. Millwork furniture made exclusively for the resort enhances the spatial experience. Selected pieces by leading designers lend the villas additional luxury and individuality.
Exclusive Beach House
Those who place particular value on exclusivity are best advised to book The Beach House. The two-storey villa has three bedrooms, a roof terrace and an impressive private pool that is 21 meters long.
Another special feature is the nature of the Fari Islands. The archipelago of four islands is also home to the picturesque Fari Marina with its vibrant beach club, excellent restaurants and charming boutiques, as well as Fari Village, where the resort staff live in a kind of campus. The focus here is on community and education. The Fari Islands are located in the North Malé Atoll and can be reached in just 50 minutes by speedboat from Malé.
