The Palm River Hotel opened its doors in November directly on the Zambezi River and just a few minutes' drive from the Victoria Falls, which are more than 1.5 kilometers wide. The hotel in a modern interpretation of colonial style is regarded as Zimbabwe's new premier address and is set to attract more luxury travelers to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site in the future. Accommodation is provided in 31 (deluxe) rooms as well as two large suites or a detached villa, which guarantees maximum privacy. Boat trips on the river start directly from the hotel's own jetty. A team of experts takes care of tours into the wildlife-rich hinterland or excursions in the footsteps of the Scottish missionary and African explorer Dr. David Livingstone. There is also a large pool in the hotel's park-like garden.
