On a discovery course

Hurtigruten Expeditions presents new program in its anniversary year.

HX (Hurtigruten Expeditions) has unveiled the program for the 2026-2027 season heralding the start of the 130th season of voyages of discovery. The program includes new routes in Antarctica, Alaska, Greenland, Norway and around the Galápagos Islands.

Highlights include a solar eclipse expedition to Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland, during which participants will experience a total solar eclipse over East Greenland on August 12, 2026. From January 2026, the seven-day trips "Arctic Norway - Expeditions under the magical Northern Lights" will start, taking up the Norwegian concept of "Friluftsliv" - life in the great outdoors. Guests travel to the Lyngen Alps, Lofoten, Vesterålen and Senja, where they can experience the polar nights and the spectacular Northern Lights. Two new routes can be booked in Alaska: The twelve-day expedition "Alaska's Inside Passage: Fascinating Fjords" leads from Vancouver to Seward and the fourteen-day trip "Alaska's Inside Passage: Wild Alaska" starts in Seward, visits Prince William Sound and crosses the Gulf of Alaska to travel through the Inside Passage in south-east Alaska and British Columbia to Vancouver.

Building on HX's legacy as a leading provider of Antarctic expeditions , the new nine-day voyage "Incomparable Antarctica: The Route of Explorers" from/to Buenos Aires travels along the Antarctic Peninsula. Stops include the South Shetland Islands, the Antarctic Sound, the Weddell Sea, the Gerlach Strait and the Penola Strait.

Travelers from Germany and the UK can look forward to new expeditions from Hamburg and Dover exploring Europe's west coast in spring. Stops include remote islands rich in culture and nature as well as unique places only accessible by small ships, such as the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly, the Dutch coastal town of Harlingen and Heligoland. New Svalbard expeditions also depart from Hamburg and Dover. The voyage "Spring in the Arctic - From Hamburg to Spitsbergen" leads through the fjords of Norway to the Arctic and along the west coast of Spitsbergen.
