Oh, how beautiful the new Panama Canal is!
The construction work took nine years
The "lowered" and widened Panama Canal was completed on June 26, 2016, allowing mega freighters and cruise liners to make the fast connection from the Atlantic to the Pacific. It takes around eight hours to complete the 80-kilometre route with three spectacular locks and countless beautiful views. Do you think you shouldn't miss out on this passage? Then we have good news for you: until the end of 2018, you will have the opportunity to cross the Panama Canal on a cruise ship exactly 112 times. Our highlight routes: With the
Seven Seas Mariner
from Alaska to New York in August 2016. With the
regatta
from
Oceania Cruises
from Miami to San Francisco in April 2017. And of course the two passages of
Hapag-Lloyd
-ships: In March 2017, the
Hanseatic
from Guayacquil in Ecuador to Belem in Brazil. And in December 2017, the
Europa 2
from Colón to Santiago de Chile.
