New wellness dimension
Velaa Private Island opens Wellbeing Village
On May 1, the Wellbeing Village on the luxury resort island of Velaa Private Island Maldives will be launched. The centerpiece is the Eveylaa Wellbeing, a spa with holistic medical treatments, traditional Ayurvedic healing methods and Eastern medicine. The offers of the entire Wellbeing Village are tailored to the individual needs of the guests and create a balance between the four pillars of spa treatments, nutrition, mindfulness and fitness.
"Eveylaa" means "ancient" in the local language and refers to the traditional healing methods of Ayurveda, Eastern medicine and holistic medical treatments offered at Eveylaa Wellbeing. The spa includes two treatment rooms for couples, with Ayurvedic beds, Shirodhara stands and traditional steam boxes. Guests enjoy Ayurvedic massages and herbal treatments for the face and body. An osteopathy-focused area features a European steam bath, modern spa treatment beds and a floating capsule. A professional Ayurvedic doctor and international osteopaths are on hand to advise guests.
The wellbeing restaurant "Faiy" ("leaf") with a view of the Velaa Golf Academy by Olazábal has been open since January. It serves light, healthy and colorful meals. The à la carte menu is based on three pleasure lines: The "Detox" purification option, the "Fresh" menu with raw food and plant-based dishes and the "Spa" menu which is based on low-calorie, low-carb, vegan, gluten-free or Mediterranean diets. In addition to wellness mocktails, smoothies and fresh juices, guests also have access to a wine list with selected vegan, organic, biodynamic and sustainably certified wines. Faiy is open six days a week and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner in an intimate setting with limited seating. The Wellbeing Village also includes a yoga pavilion and Pilates reformer studio.
"The new Velaa Wellbeing Village marks a milestone for the island and we are delighted to offer a luxury wellness retreat that focuses on guests' health and enhancing their personal wellbeing. Wellness is no longer seen as an indulgence, but an essential," explains Wayne Milgate, General Manager of Velaa Private Island.
