New Six Senses Spa in Istanbul
Pampering moments in a 100-year-old stone house
The Six Senses Kocataş Mansions welcomed its first guests at the end of 2019. The oasis outside the city offers its guests a relaxing break with a view of the Bosphorus and in tried-and-tested Six Senses style. A new spa has now been added to the complex - and its sustainable credentials are impressive.
Without compromise
Like the other hotels in the brand, Six Senses Kocataş Mansions is committed to taking responsibility for society, sustainability and well-being. Turkish heritage, local sensibility, wellness and sustainability are combined to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. The spa, which is located in a 100-year-old stone house, was built using natural materials from the surrounding area. Typical Ottoman artifacts from palace collections can be found on all three levels, paying homage to Turkish culture and reminding us of the city's past.
The five treatment rooms are complemented by three hammams, two steam baths, two saunas and a relaxation area. A special feature is the anti-aging center, where everything revolves around a youthful glow. A visit to the hammam is also said to have a rejuvenating effect - the local experts make sure of that. Surrounded by attractive interiors, it is not difficult to let go of the worries of everyday life.
Spectacular moments
Especially when the view of the Bosphorus falls through the glass wall. A selection of different treatments, such as massages, rituals, hair and beauty treatments complete the offer at the new Six Senses Kocataş Mansions Spa. The beautiful blue tiles in the treatment rooms allude to the Blue Mosque. An infinity pool with a view of the Bosphorus, a bar and a gym will complement the spa from spring 2022.
No compromises are made when it comes to sustainability. The skincare products come from the French skincare brand Biologique Recherche, while the ingredients for Ayurvedic aromatherapy rituals come from Subtle Energies. But that's not all. The spa team's uniforms are made entirely from sustainable materials. Local designer Ezra Tuba is responsible for their design. He has long been committed to sustainable and ethical fashion in Turkey.
"The Six Senses Spa Kocataş Mansions, Istanbul is a magical place for guests and members. After months of anticipation, we have finally opened our doors and completed the resort's identity," says Spa Director Sündüz Ediz Kibar, who is also delighted with the successful reopening.
