New director at Raffles Seychelles
Island paradise open from March 25
As things stand, the island paradise of the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean plans to reopen to tourists from all over the world on March 25, 2021. Regardless of whether they have a vaccination against the coronavirus or not. In addition, a woman is taking over the management of the luxury resort Raffles Seychelles for the first time. Salwa Razzouk will be the new General Manager of the hideaway off the East African coast.
A breath of fresh air on Praslin
Razzouk is no stranger to the Raffles Seychelles team. The 40-year-old Lebanese woman has been a permanent fixture at the island resort since 2018, where she previously worked as Resort Manager and is now taking on the role of General Manager. She can look back on 17 years of professional experience in the luxury hotel industry, has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on finance and also brings a great deal of passion for the hotel industry with her. "My life in Lebanon was like a blessing in disguise - it prepared me for this year," she says with regard to the last few months marked by the pandemic. Even during this difficult time, she was able to prove herself with her expertise. In addition to her responsibility for the entire team, she is also entrusted with developing and implementing new strategies. Razzouk has proven more than once that she can get things done. She began her career in tourism as a waitress in a restaurant and worked in the finance department of a hotel for four years before coming to the island paradise of the Seychelles via Dubai.
On the island of Praslin, she is now responsible for 86 villas and provides honeymooners, gourmets and adventurers with unforgettable moments surrounded by the unique nature of the Seychelles. The resort, where guests stay exclusively in private villas with their own pool, is located in the immediate vicinity of Anse Lazio. It is one of the most famous beaches in the world. The island is also characterized by the Vallée de Mai National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the Seychelles palm Coco de Mer. The aim is not only to offer the best quality in service, but also in the cuisine. The award-winning chefs prepare local Seychelles dishes in combination with international gourmet cuisine.
Safe island escape
As the vaccination and thus the immunization of the population in the Seychelles has already progressed so far, the island state is now relaxing its entry regulations. The current plan is to welcome travelers from all over the world again from 25 March. Vaccination is not a mandatory requirement, only a PCR test that is not older than 72 hours must be presented.
