On June 3, 2024, the opening of the second hotel in London was announced - the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair. Strategically located in the historic Hanover Square, this elegant boutique hotel combines fashion, art, business and culture in a luxurious setting. With 50 rooms and suites, 77 private residences, an exclusive restaurant by award-winning chef Akira Back, two bars and an exquisite spa, the hotel sets new standards in luxury and comfort.
Designed by the renowned architecture firm Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners,
the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair is the first new building in this district for over a decade. The building features a unique Vierendeel structure and a contemporary façade of burnt red brick, inspired by the Georgian terraces of the surrounding area. This combination of traditional elegance and modern design creates an unmistakable architectural highlight.
The 50 rooms and suites as well as the 77 residences
were designed by British studio Indigo, which fuses Mandarin Oriental's Asian heritage with local influences. Inspired by haute couture, the rooms exude elegance and sophistication. The color palette ranges from rich emerald green to royal maroon and soothing turquoise. Fine woods, marble, bespoke lighting and handmade silk wallpaper by de Gournay round off the luxurious ambience.
The hotel offers an outstanding culinary experience with the debut of the
award-winning chef Akira Back in London.
Akira Back Restaurant, with seating for 148 guests, serves innovative dishes such as the famous "AB Tuna Pizza". The intimate Dosa Chef's Table offers contemporary Korean cuisine, while the ABar Lounge offers creative cocktails and live DJ sets late into the night. Later this year, the
ABar Rooftop,
which promises a breathtaking panoramic view of the London skyline.
The underground spa at the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair
