Mahali Mzuri , Sir Richard Branson's luxurious tented camp in Kenya's famous Maasai Mara, has reopened after extensive renovations just in time for the great animal migrations in July and August. The twelve elegant glamping suites are now even more inspired by the local Maasai craftsmanship and also feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows for an unobstructed view of the diverse wildlife. Each tent has a king-size or single bed, a living area, a separate walk-in shower and a free-standing bathtub with spectacular panoramic views. The new design concept also extends to the restaurant, bar and infinity pool, which has been complemented by comfortable cabanas. As with all Branson's Virgin Limited Edition resorts, the new/old Mahali Mzuri also focuses on sustainability: it has its own solar farm, a rainwater harvesting system and a large kitchen garden that supplies the chefs with home-grown organic fruit and vegetables.
