Lifestyle hotel Badeschloss in Bad Gastein
Invigorating bathing culture at the Alpine Swim Club at the waterfall
The thundering waterfall in Bad Gastein sets the central theme in the bathing castle: Water. However, bathing at the four-star hotel on Straubinger Platz is not just about immersion, cleansing, refreshing or the healing process amidst the alpine backdrop, but rather about the state of happiness when time stands still and contact with the element of life turns into pure contentment. The Alpine Swim Club is a modern, inspiring community spot; its home, the historic Badeschloss in the legendary spa town, is the source of a new sense of well-being.
Bad Gastein is experiencing a renaissance. At the Badeschloss lifestyle hotel, too, the theme of bathing is a symbol of revitalization. Here, where bathing culture has been cultivated since 1791 and the castle by the waterfall was once transformed into a public spa hotel, the source of life is part of the DNA. And it now flows through the new Alpine Swim Club in the renovated Travel Charme hotel. The vision for the club is to be understood in the holistic context of the hotel's philosophy: refreshing spa hang-out, vital community spot and place of inspiration. Three pillars serve as the basis for recharging inner and outer energies: physical wellness offers (for example treatments, the Fitness & Peloton Gym, courses & personal training and outdoor activities), mental wellness offers (including water yoga retreats and breathing techniques for calm and flowing thoughts) and food wellness (for example nutritional advice).
Perfectly staged and yet the epitome of the most natural, universal element of life, the infinity rooftop pool - combined with the boundless view of the panorama - is the heart and soul of the club. On a generous 111 square meters on the X. floor. The relaxation areas with viewing balcony and terrace allow the mind to switch off and linger in the moment. Three saunas (Finnish sauna, bio-sauna and serail bath/peeling sauna) and a cooling area in the form of a drinking fountain, Kneipp basin and ice fountain are available for heat without battle. The Alpine Swim Club also offers external treatments such as massages, peelings, wraps and many other treatments to boost your well-being. Or with a power nap at the edge of the pool and small energy boosters from the Well-Fit bar.
The skincare ranges from The Organic Pharmacy in London ensure that the skin, the reflection of the soul, is pampered. The award-winning products contain highly effective natural substances to regenerate and repair the skin. The combination of gently flowing massage and acupressure techniques in individually tailored facial treatments provides new freshness and energy to make the face glow.
Of course, bathing culture existed even before the bathing palace; it originated as a ceremonial custom in the thermal baths of the Roman Empire. The natural healing power and cleansing effect of the water, as well as the pleasure of a bath, only later became part of the bathing act. In the middle of the 19th century, public baths were built and spas were established near thermal and healing springs. Such as Bad Gastein, which was one of the most popular of its kind with its radon-containing thermal water and promised the source of eternal youth.
Culinary delights in the Alps: Norman Beitz conjures up gastronomic masterpieces
A captivating culinary movement is unfolding in the picturesque Alps of Bad Gastein, led by Norman Beitz, Executive Chef of the Hotels am Straubingerplatz. With creative finesse, he is reinvigorating the historic Grand Hotel Straubinger and Badeschloss, while combining a past steeped in tradition with contemporary sophistication.
Beitz's passion for cooking is not rooted in Michelin-starred restaurants, but in the simple, lovingly prepared dishes of his grandmother. This passion runs like a thread through his culinary journey, shaped by inspiring mentors and stops such as Villa Rothschild Königstein and Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna. As the first head chef after the reopening of the Grand Hotel Straubinger and Badeschloss, he is inspired by the connection to the past and aims to continue both establishments with fresh ideas.
Beitz plans to develop the Grand Hotel Straubinger into a culinary hotspot and to establish creative, original cuisine in the Badeschloss. This culinary renaissance combines tradition and innovation in an appealing way and promises guests an unforgettable experience. A highlight will be the reinterpretation of the Straubinger Torte, which reinvents sweet traditions in a charming way and delights guests.
