and South Sea flair ... It is here, on one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline on the Big Island, that Kona Villatge, A Rosewood Resort opened in late summer.
Designed like a traditional Hawaiian village
the resort's 150 bungalows, furnished with fine natural materials and island art, are spread over 81 hectares of garden paradise with coconut and lime plantations as well as herb and vegetable beds. Dining takes place in the resort's two restaurants by the sea, which are fully committed to the farm-to-table philosophy. The neighboring wellness area also offers indulgence with a view of the water. The signature treatments at the Asaya Spa, which is surrounded by black volcanic lava, include a "Journey" that begins with a gratitude ritual on the beach and ends with a canoe ride on the water.
