Japanese wellness art in Tyrol
Austria's first original Japanese Head Spa at the Posthotel Achenkirch
The Tyrolean 5-star Adults Only Posthotel Achenkirch on Lake Achensee is adding a new highlight to its almost four-hectare retreat: Austria's first and only original Japanese Head Spa has been located there since the end of November 2024. In an almost 2-hour treatment, guests can experience the global trend and experience true deep relaxation in addition to the 7,000 square meter wellness and spa area. The traditional Japanese ritual combines innovative massage techniques, aromatherapy elements and special care products for both physical and emotional, holistic well-being.
Japanese Head Spa: centuries-old ritual interpreted in a modern way
The Japanese Head Spa is much more than an ordinary scalp treatment - it is a luxurious ritual that combines centuries-old traditions with state-of-the-art technology. Inspired by the Ayurvedic medicine of India and the principles of Japanese beauty rituals, the Head Spa combines gentle massages, aromatherapy and innovative equipment to create a holistic experience. Targeted movements and the use of natural essential oils stimulate blood flow to the scalp, which strengthens the hair follicles and promotes hair growth. At the same time, the aromatherapy elements reduce stress and help to find inner balance.
The treatment includes a comprehensive care program: from scalp analysis and a three-stage deep cleansing to the use of special devices such as the hair steam sauna and the Yume Headbath. The hair steam sauna works with microscopically small water particles that penetrate deep into the scalp and transport care ingredients particularly effectively. The Yume Headbath, a gentle stream of water along the scalp, offers deep relaxation with its soothing sounds while removing oxidized sebum and preserving the natural moisture balance. The Japanese Head Spa embodies a holistic approach that is not just about healthy and shiny hair, but rather focuses on the harmony of body and mind based on ancient knowledge.
"Wellness of the future" according to the Shaolin principle: from martial art to philosophy of life
Traditional practices from the Far East are not only to be found at the Posthotel Achenkirch in Japan. The philosophy of Shaolin, whose roots lie in ancient China, forms the foundation of the holistic 5-star Adults Only Resort: body, mind and soul are one unit and should flow in harmonious balance again. Interpreted in an innovative way, the Shaolin principles are implemented in a contemporary way in a variety of offers and interact with each other: treatments from Indian Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treatments under the guidance of expert Dr. Hu Ji as well as Tai Chi and Qi Gong with the in-house Shaolin Master Liang are intended to promote comprehensive well-being - complemented by the TCM-inspired cuisine of the adjoining Tenzo restaurant, which is based on the healing five-element teachings.
Classic wellness is being rethought at the Tyrolean Posthotel Achenkirch: hotelier and visionary Karl C. Reiter likes to describe his far-reaching health concept as "wellness of the future", creating an environment that goes far beyond the usual hotel experience.
