On everyone's lips: Explora Journeys
A culinary journey of discovery
In summer 2023, the time has come: the EXPLORA I from Explora Journeys will set sail this July as one of the most anticipated cruise ships in the world. It is already clear that the maiden voyage will be a key luxury event for the cruise industry in many respects. Among other things, some details about the ship's culinary offering have recently been announced.
To the facts:
The fact that a cruise on the EXPLORA I is a special voyage of discovery, not least in culinary terms, can be seen from the first glance at the gastronomic dimensions of the cruise liner. Guests can expect an epicurean world with a total of 18 different venues that bring together culinary talents, cultures and passions from all over the world. Six restaurants, 12 lounges and bars (four outdoors and eight indoors) and a Chef's Kitchen event, where guests can sample flavors from around the world, speak for themselves. For comparison: a total of 461 suites, penthouses and residences are available on the EXPLORA I.
To the Insights:
Five of the six restaurants will offer all-inclusive menus based on a variety of international cuisines. Franck Garanger - a chef of international renown - is responsible for the sophisticated culinary composition. The gastronomic offering is rounded off by the ingenuity of the sommeliers on board, who ensure harmonious matches and rare jewels in the glass - also when it comes to "non-alcoholic cocktails"!
THE RESTAURANTS:
Sakura
Inspired by the old tea rooms of Kyoto, Sakura is a gourmet gem of Asian cuisine. In addition to Japanese specialties, Thai, Vietnamese and Malaysian delicacies are also served and accompanied by matching sakes and shōchūs. Specialty: the wakame salad with smoked pepper from Madagascar and tataki of Wagyu beef.
Marble & Co. Grill
Cool, modern, relaxed: the Marble & Co. Grill aims to redefine European steakhouse culture in a pleasant atmosphere. No sooner said than done - the plates are filled exclusively with carefully selected cuts of sustainably produced meat, including delicacies such as 30-day matured, grilled prime rib with cherry tomatoes and hollandaise sauce.
Med Yacht Club
Mediterranean beach ambience meets family flair: at the Med Yacht Club we encounter the full flavors of Italy, Spain, Greece, France and North Africa on charming sharing plates. Special: Grilled octopus on San Marzano tomato sauce with Taggiasca olives, green beans and parsley.
Emporium Marketplace
Serving everything your heart desires: from sushi to meat to oven-fresh pizza and from cheese specialties of all kinds to acai bowls - enjoyment is the top priority here. Ambience? Minimalist - in exciting contrast to the restaurant's culinary range. Top: the handmade tortelloni with ricotta cheese, spinach and tomato and sage butter.
Fil Rouge
International cuisine with a French touch in an intimate ambience: at Fil Rouge you want to linger a little longer and enjoy the blissful tranquillity. Specialty: tuna tataki, crispy tomato and olive tart, vegetables, white vanilla pepper.
About Explora Journeys & the EXPLORA I:
The way Explora Journeys defines luxury is different. New. Above all, it is: trend-setting. As the name suggests, the explorative journey - to be understood both literally and figuratively - is at the heart of the philosophy: Journeys are designed as inner and outer experiences for conscious travelers who want to uncover new paths and create lasting memories.
Explora Journeys therefore involve more space, time and being. They follow a clear course: to ennoble time through experience and to create space for (new) being.
It is the longer stays in the beautiful places, the private retreats, suites or penthouses between 35 and 280 square meters, the guest-crew ratio of 1.25 guests per host or the maximum freedom through top-class inclusive services that define this "new luxury".
