Hapag-Lloyd publishes main catalog 2022/23

Expedition program from September 2022 to September 2023 now bookable

The new main catalog of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises' new expedition class features a total of 72 voyages, including seven premiere itineraries and seven "voyages for young explorers". The expedition fleet, consisting of the ultra-modern newbuilds HANSEATIC nature, HANSEATIC inspiration and HANSEATIC spirit, which will enter service in 2021, thus offers a particularly varied routing worldwide. The voyages can already be booked now.

On the way to all continents

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises takes its passengers from the Solomon Islands to Spitsbergen, from Alaska to Antarctica and from the Northwest Passage to Northeast Greenland - there is hardly a corner of the world that the fleet's small, maneuverable and ultra-modern expedition ships cannot reach. Even nautically challenging routes to remote regions are mastered with ease by the ships' captains. As always, the focus of the routing is on the authentic experience of the regions and a genuine expedition feeling full of respect for people and nature.
The three ships will begin their voyages of discovery in the fall of 2022 in the Indian Ocean, on the coasts of Western Europe or in Cape Verde, before visiting the penguin world of Antarctica in the European winter. In spring 2023, the routes will take them north across the South Pacific, through the Amazon or the Panama Canal. Countries such as Kamchatka, Japan, Chile and the Azores are on the program, as are the Great Lakes in North America. The latter is made possible by the special design of the HANSEATIC inspiration. It has a retractable bridge dock and is built so compactly that it can reach the Great Lakes through the lock and canal system. In summer, the ships are then on their way to the British Isles, Iceland and through the western Arctic to the pack ice frontier.

Expedition highlights of the 2022/23 season

The company is particularly proud of the seven premiere routes in the main catalog. For example, the HANSEATIC spirit, which is due to enter service this year, will explore Madagascar on relatively unknown routes in winter 2022 and also introduce its guests to South Africa. The HANSEATIC nature will set off on an expedition to Hokkaido and Siberia in early summer 2023. One of the highlights of the HANSEATIC nature expeditions in late summer 2023 will be the voyage along the legendary sea route of the Northwest Passage. The HANSEATIC inspiration is heading off the beaten track in the Canadian Arctic to the rarely visited west coast of Ellesmere Island. Whether near or far, warm or cold: pioneering spirit and knowledge transfer characterize the experience on board and ashore. In addition to the on-board team of experts, each ship has its own interactive knowledge lab for independent learning.

All three ships in the new expedition class offer every comfort and space for a maximum of 230 guests. The HANSEATIC spirit is operated as an adults-only ship and welcomes guests aged 18 and over, while the expedition concept of the HANSEATIC nature and HANSEATIC inspiration also includes "voyages for young explorers" between the ages of 10 and 17, especially during the vacation season.
