Grandiose grandeur

The Regend Seven Seas Grandeur expires at the end of 2023

She will bear the evocative name Seven Seas Grandeur and become the sixth member of the Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet: we are talking about the shipping company's newest ship, which is expected in the fourth quarter of 2023. The new design of the signature restaurant "Compass Rose" was also unveiled with the name release.

30 years of perfection

Even when the first Regent Seven Seas Cruises ship sailed 30 years ago, luxury and perfection were the standards by which the shipping company measured itself. "Seven Seas Grandeur is the culmination of a 30-year legacy of perfection and represents the latest evolution in luxury cruising," said Jason Montague, President and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. "Her refined style, unparalleled elegance and breathtaking beauty will exceed all expectations of our discerning guests," he promises. Indeed, the key data alone are impressive. For example, she will welcome just 750 guests on board - despite her size. The Grandeur will therefore offer every guest more space than any other ship on the world's oceans to date.
The Grandeur will also be grandiose in terms of suites, restaurants, entertainment and amenities. The details are yet to be announced, but bookings for the first season of the Seven Seas Grandeur will start on September 22, 2021. What is known so far is that the multi-award-winning studio DADO is designing the ship. The first to receive a makeover is the signature restaurant Compass Rose: "The restaurants on board all Regent ships are excellent, but for Seven Seas Grandeur's Compass Rose we wanted to create a place that is truly a feast for the eyes," says Yohandel Ruiz, founding partner of Studio DADO. "The new design of Compass Rose will evoke curiosity and wonder in guests before they even set foot in the restaurant, and they can look forward to a sumptuous, personalized meal in a dramatic and beautiful setting. It's a culinary experience where friends and family will be spoiled time and time again."

The new design includes an intricate, cascading waterfall sculpture made of laser-cut metal and hand-blown glass in front of the restaurant. Inside, a canopy of interwoven crystal and illuminated trees await guests. The floor-to-ceiling lighting from the thousands of individually mounted crystal leaves is only outshone at night by the beauty of the twinkling stars in the night sky. Guests can enjoy unrestricted views of these through the huge windows in the Compass Rose. Incidentally, it is not only worth taking a look outside, but also at the menu. The Compass Rose offers a wider selection than cruise guests have ever experienced. Guests put together their own personal menu from main courses, side dishes, sauces and ingredients.
