Two hours from Barcelona, the Gran Hotel Mas d'en Bruno opened last year as the first luxury hotel in Priorat, one of Spain's most important wine-growing regions. The 18th century estate, which belongs to the Relais & Châteaux association, has 24 spacious suites with double-sided fireplaces, views of the vineyards and the greatest possible privacy. Other on-site amenities include an infinity pool, a library and a historic wine cellar for tastings under expert guidance. There is also the casual tapas bar Terraco and the fine-dining restaurant Vinum.
The spa, which was built around an old olive press, focuses on highly effective vinotherapy treatments. Guests also have access to hot and cold pools, sauna, steam bath and a yoga platform in the vineyards. Other offers include olive oil tastings, stargazing, wine classes, e-bike tours and helicopter tours. Our tip: Be sure to book a beekeeping course and have the honey you make delivered to your home as a sweet souvenir!
