Golden Stag
Piece of gold in Gmunden
Since the year 1624, the Goldener Hirsch
has been a popular meeting place in the lively lakeside town of Gmunden in Upper Austria. Owner and architect Inge Krebs-Hinterwirth has now transformed the hotel into a fine boutique hotel with 21 rooms and suites with a great sense of tradition and a twinkle in her eye. Whether "Geweihträger", "Platzhirsch", "Goldenes Loft" or "Junger Wilder" - each hideaway focuses on a unique combination of vintage and modern, with the spacious bathrooms serving as private wellness oases.
In the dining room, hand-woven fabrics
and fine Gmundner ceramics create a unique dining experience. The ambience is classic and cozy with an original Schleis tiled stove and typical regional tavern tables. The best view is from the roof terrace. A sauna and daybeds await you here for relaxation - perfect after an extensive exploration tour of the region, which will be the "European Capital of Culture" in 2024.
