"A symbol of future nostalgia" is the motto of Cardo Roma, Autograph Collection, which will make its debut as an innovative hotel brand in the Eternal City in the first quarter of 2024. The hotel, located in the vibrant Esposizione Universale Roma (EUR) neighborhood, is the first Cardo Hotels property to join Marriott Bonvoy's Autograph Collection Hotels.

The hotel interior, designed by award-winning designer Saar Zafrir from Amsterdam, draws inspiration from ancient Roman history. The name "Cardo" refers to a north-south oriented street in Roman cities that was the central point of economic life. This reflects the vibrant vision that inspired the comprehensive hospitality concept of Cardo Hotels.

Originally designed by architect Lucio Passarelli, the hotel has been extensively renovated and now offers 324 guest rooms and suites over seven floors. Signature suites range from 50 sqm POP suites and 75 sqm FAB suites to the opulent 100 sqm TOP suite. All accommodations are equipped with smart technologies such as keyless entry and a tablet as a digital concierge. Additional amenities include coffee-table books from Taschen and an exclusive Muro room fragrance.

Cardo Roma will be home to two unique dining venues, including the signature restaurant Vertici. Serving authentic Italian cuisine, Vertici highlights Rome's rich culinary heritage with a contemporary twist. Here, guests can not only enjoy excellent dishes, but also take part in pasta cooking classes and chef-hosted events. To accompany the main restaurant, the Vertici Bar is the ideal place for an aperitivo with a selection of finely tuned cocktails created by an award-winning mixologist. Small dishes and snacks are also served. The seasonal Spectio pool bar is the perfect place for cocktails, snacks and smoothies in the open air, accompanied by live music and DJ acts.

Wellness is also an essential part of the overall concept. At the heart of the hotel is the Olea Wellness and Spa: a spacious 1,200 square meter retreat dedicated to the regeneration of body and mind. At its four pools with different water temperatures, guests can enjoy a bathing experience reminiscent of ancient Rome - a therapeutic course that honors the old adage "Mens sana in corpore sano" (healthy mind in a healthy body). Spa facilities include a traditional sauna and hammam as well as six treatment rooms for holistic body and facial treatments using products from the renowned French brand Cinq Mondes. A state-of-the-art fitness center with Technogym equipment further emphasizes the hotel's commitment to physical activity as the cornerstone of well-being.

Saar Zafrir has managed to seamlessly integrate business and pleasure by transforming traditional conference spaces into an eclectic and contemporary venue for business and leisure travelers. The versatile meeting and event space covers an impressive 3,100 square meters, one of the largest in Rome.
