Fragrant suites
El Palace Barcelona cooperates with luxury perfumer
What does a rock star smell like? What does Salvador Dalí smell like? An answer to this question has recently been found at the Spanish 5-star hotel El Palace Barcelona. The hotel has recently started working with local luxury perfumer Carner Barcelona. Together with him, it has developed its own characteristic fragrance for each of the hotel's five Art Suites.
Always follow your nose
El Palace Barcelona has had five Art Suites since 2016. Each of them is inspired by a different artistic genre. Painting, dance, architecture, literature, sculpture or music. For example, there is a suite dedicated to César Ritz. He is considered the creator of the modern luxury hotel industry. The hotel also has the Salvador Dalí Suite. It is furnished with unique reminders of the time when he stayed at the hotel. Other inspirations for the Art Suites were the painter and sculptor Joan Miró and the Catalan writer Carlos Ruiz Zafon. The Ronnie Wood Suite is completely different in style. Named after the legendary Rolling Stones guitarist, it is decorated in shades of purple and Art Deco style.
Each of the five Art Suites now has its own fragrance. This scent envelops guests as soon as they enter their suite. A 100 ml bottle is available for guests during their stay. Those who would like to indulge in the suite fragrance at home can purchase the fragrances in the Carner Barcelona Store or from the hotel's concierge team. The team is also happy to arrange tailor-made tours and personal shopping appointments in the Carner Store for interested guests. But what do the suites smell like?
The Salvador Dalí Art Suite has a hint of "Fig Man" about it. The scent is fresh, green, earthy and pays homage to Dalí's beloved fig tree. César Ritz smells of "Cuirs". This is a perfume full of character. It is a fusion of precious woods, leather and tobacco. Dance" is in the air in the Carlos Ruiz Zafón Suite. Floral, musky and woody notes combine to create a sensual and elegant composition. The lemony-floral "Bo-Bo" is dedicated to Joan Miró, while Ronnie Wood is given "Rock Star". This is a fragrance in which contrasts of nature harmonize.
"We are very pleased about this creative and special collaboration, because it is important to us to support like-minded local brands," says Friedrich von Schönburg, General Manager of El Palace Barcelona.
