For high-flyers: the Qsuites from Qatar

Flying stronger together

Qatar Airways' award-winning Business Class offers plenty of room for freedom - and unique flying experiences.

Private hours between check-in and landing? Well-screened situations for families, colleagues or friends? This is usually reserved for a visit to the airport lounge. In the air, you enjoy a more manageable level of privacy. Unless you take off with Qatar Airways, which is the first airline in the world to have a room concept that makes flying in First and Business Class a shielded experience. With the introduction of Qsuite, Qatar Airways is rolling out the airline industry's first double bed, optionally consisting of two seats. But that is just one of the configuration options. Customizable partitions and effortlessly movable TV screens also enable "group experiences".

The first flying double bed

Suddenly families or friends can sit face-to-face and in a comfortable posture. Of course, this also works in a business context. Four suites can then be combined to form a "compartment". Team meeting above the clouds? Confidential discussions with business partners? Co-working has rarely been more "aloof"!

We've already talked about dreaming together in a comfortable double bed. It offers a reclining angle of 180°, better known as the perfect horizontal. A pleasant detail for night flights: The variably designed lighting inside the aircraft, which makes it easier to approach and get used to changing time zones. Large, electronically dimmable windows provide additional support for fine-tuning. They are easy to operate using sensor buttons at the bottom of the window frames.

The Qsuites are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration. One special feature may take a little getting used to: seats arranged in the opposite direction to the direction of flight. Anyone who has problems with this should therefore make sure that their suite faces the direction of flight when making a reservation. But the all-clear can be given: The unfamiliar feeling only occurs during take-off and landing.
During the flight, "traveling upside down" makes no difference. In contrast to other features: the Qsuite is characterized by spacious lavatories equipped with pleasantly scented products as well as particularly spacious luggage compartments. It goes without saying that the seat almost feels like a small room, even when not used individually. Half-height, room-dividing elements emphasize privacy. Side compartments help to organize personal items and offer more space in total than in any other Business Class.

Individualization also characterizes the meal concept in Qatar Airways Business Class. Instead of fixed service times, passengers can order their meals whenever they want. The Oryx One entertainment system is also impressive and offers 4,000 options. The movable 21.5-inch screen is large and can be operated with a small remote control or alternatively as a touchscreen. Meanwhile, "Super Wifi", as Qatar Airways calls it, supports real-time contact, not quite as fast as you might be used to from surfing in your own home or office, but faster than most of the competition.
