First hotel in Austria with its own test lane

4*s Schlosspark Mauerbach near Vienna has included free testing in its range of services

The resort in the Vienna Woods was a pioneer back in May 2020 and was the first hotel in Austria to start regularly testing the entire hotel crew at its own expense. Now Schlosspark Mauerbach is taking the next step, which could once again set an example for the entire tourism industry. Every day, every seminar and business guest, partner, supplier and member of the team can use the new test lane, which was set up in collaboration with the Red Cross, free of charge. The result is sent to your cell phone after 15 minutes. The high-quality antigen tests are then also valid for entry to body-related services. The hotel management is thus clearly positioning itself in the direction of safety: no more access without a test. With this step, the hotel can set the trend for an entire industry and show how tourism can function safely not only during the pandemic, but WITH the pandemic.

"Our path through this crisis has always been very clear. The safety and health of the team and guests come first. We have to accept the situation, deal with the pandemic proactively and live with it. That is why we are investing in measures that not only have a short-term and selective effect, but also enable safe travel and the holding of seminars and conferences in the long term. We also want to make an active contribution to containing the pandemic and at the same time support the restart of the economy. The model of the free test lane in the business area will then also be established for leisure guests as soon as they are allowed to come to us again," says Hotel Director Philip Jansohn.

Every day (Monday 9.00 to 10.00 a.m., Tuesday to Friday from 8.00 and 9.00 a.m.), complete testing is carried out in cooperation with the Red Cross. This means that every seminar or business guest, but also every employee, can be sure that only people who have currently tested negative are in the hotel - in the booked seminar, but also in the public areas and in the restaurant. The hotel makes use of its house rules and only allows guests to check in if they have been tested.

The refuge for those seeking peace and quiet in the middle of the Vienna Woods has its own business area with 16 seminar and banquet rooms as well as breakout areas in the 5-hectare castle park in addition to the extensive recreation area. All conference and seminar rooms have automatic ventilation with fresh air only and have a direct exit to the castle park. The technology has been upgraded with state-of-the-art equipment for hybrid events and live broadcasts, and a hall with a stage has been set up for this purpose.

In accordance with current regulations, seminars and conferences could also take place in Schlosspark Mauerbach during the lockdown. A comprehensive hygiene concept, the ability to keep sufficient distance and the new test lane are a compact concept that has now made seminars, conferences and meetings even safer.
