RIU has opened its first hotel in West Africa with the Riu Baobab

The new family-friendly five-star hotel in Senegal is the Spanish hotel chain's first hotel in West Africa with all-inclusive service directly on the long, white beach of Pointe Sarène. The resort is located 100 kilometers from Dakar and 48 kilometers from the airport.

502 double and family rooms as well as 20 swim-up rooms and suites with private pool are spread over a main building with four floors and two annexes. A tourist novelty in this largely unknown vacation destination is RIU's high-quality 24-hour all-inclusive service, which promises vacation guests a varied gastronomic offering in four bars and five restaurants. The main restaurant serves an international buffet, while Italian and Asian cuisine and grilled specialties provide culinary delights in the themed restaurants.

The lush gardens with spacious sun terraces and palm trees are home to four swimming pools and a children's pool with slides. The "Splash Water World" water park is a highlight for young and old alike.

An extensive entertainment program with the RIU animation team delights children and adults alike. Little guests from the age of four are looked after in the RiuLand children's club with games and activities. A fitness studio and a spa area with steam bath invite guests to exercise and relax. In addition to included sports activities such as group fitness classes, a trial dive in the pool as well as kayaking and snorkeling equipment are free of charge for hotel guests.

The design and decoration of the interiors are inspired by the earthy colors and culture of Senegal. Natural materials such as dark wood and stone dominate the rooms, restaurants and lobby. The hotel name also pays homage to Senegal: the country's national tree is the baobab - also known as the baobab tree.
