eriro

Opening of the smallest luxury hide at 1550 meters - eriro

On 22 July 2024, eriro, the most exclusive Alpine Hide opened at an altitude of 1550 meters. The unique concept of modern luxury sets new standards in terms of originality, deceleration and mindfulness. Nine puristically designed suites, deliberately reduced to the essentials, traditional cuisine and wellness inspired by local herbs make eriro the perfect retreat for deep relaxation and unforgettable nature experiences in a breathtaking mountain landscape.

Even the journey there is an experience.
There are covered parking spaces in the valley, from where you can take the cable car up to eriro. Luggage takes a separate route into the eriro. As the cable car gondola ascends, you leave the world behind you. The mountain air is clear and the colors glow intensely;

At 1550 meters above sea level , at the foot of the impressive Zugspitze massif, lies eriro. The new nine-suite Alpine Hide symbolizes a new form of luxury. Authentic originality. Unforgettable experiences in nature. Sharpened senses, fresh thoughts and new perspectives. The name is a tribute to the village of Ehrwald. It comes from the Old High German "eriro wald" and means "at the beginning of the forest". It also stands for the attributes of eriro - elemental, calm, individual, reduced, original. Everything has been thought of for your time in the mystical mountain world on the Ehrwalder Alm in Tyrol, leaving nothing to be desired.

Alpine all-round enjoyment  Inspired by the traditional preparation methods of the Alps and made from local ingredients, the original cuisine of the eriro forms the basis for an exciting interpretation of well-known flavors. The dishes reflect the changing weather conditions of the mountains in both taste and appearance: sometimes rough and strong, sometimes soft and delicate, they adapt to the seasons and moods of mountain nature.
Quiches and canapés, fruit, muesli, fresh bread and healthy snacks are served daily on the long table in the lounge. Together with other guests or on your own, you can enjoy the sunset as the stars come out. Everything is quiet now. Even from your bed you can see the alpine meadows and the mighty Zugspitze.

The true Außerferner native comes to the eriro from Canada with a rucksack full of outdoor, sports and organizational skills. Together with other GEMs, she provides the unforgettable experiences that are already included in an eriro stay - according to the motto: everything can, nothing must.
The head hostess at eriro is Corinna Bienek. The experienced hotel manager completed her training as a hotel manageress at the 5*S Schloss Elmau and developed her career through various positions in Germany and Austria. Her high-caliber positions have mainly involved five-star hotels, from private chalets to 146-room resorts.

Healing herbal treatments in the nature spa  A stay at the eriro allows you to fully enjoy nature in the spa. The natural surroundings are integrated into the spa experience. The floors of the spa are uneven and the small round stones are reminiscent of hiking trails that can be explored by touch and feel. You enter the Finnish sauna through a mist of ice, cool and damp like a ravine passage. Comfortable hay beds and loungers await guests. The room is filled with the fine scent of herbs. Massages and body treatments are completely customized. This means that there is no "spa menu", but rather a personal consultation in which wishes and needs are recorded. During the treatments, the therapist specifically uses the five medicinal herbs arnica, St. John's wort, yarrow, ribwort and nettle to restore the body's natural balance.

Architecture  The idea for this extraordinary hideaway came from three local families with experience in the hotel industry and craftsmanship. The focus was on the gentle use of a wonderful piece of land on the mountain pasture. Their elaborate, nature-oriented approach to the architecture of the detached property is a piece of homeland conservation. Many design elements were made by hand, such as the long dining table in the lobby, every single lamp and traditional wrought ironwork. Most of the bathtubs were made from a wooden trunk and the roof was shingled from larch - after all, you live in Ehrwald. Local wood, stone, a fireplace, plants, themed water basins, furs and natural fibers give the eriro a natural ambience.

From vision to holistic brand concept  A hotel as unique as eriro needs a branding concept that is at least as unique. That's why the owner families worked closely with the experts from the unikateur agency from the initial idea through to detailed planning and implementation, and received professional support to ensure that eriro was perceived as a strong and consistent brand right from the start. Not only were creative design elements and an unmistakable corporate identity developed, but also a well thought-out, holistic marketing strategy that is deeply rooted in the vision of the most exclusive Alpine Hide at 1550m.

The eriro philosophy  Here you can get lost and find yourself. This requires courage and reflection. Those who know what they want to take home with them will perhaps benefit most from the time when they are thrown back on themselves up on the Ehrwalder Alm. The entire eriro team paves the way for you to find your way back to your original roots and fill the space you have gained with meaning.
