Emirates celebrates Emirates
The airline presents special livery for the anniversary
It takes three days and 14 employees to apply the curved lettering "United Arab Emirates 50" in gold to the gleaming white chassis of an Airbus A380 or a Boeing 777-300ER. But that doesn't stop the Arab airline from doing it anyway. After all, there is every reason to celebrate. The anniversary lettering in Arabic and English celebrates the 50th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The first aircraft with the special livery is already in the air, the first flight was to Frankfurt. Over the next few weeks, further aircraft will be decorated with the anniversary livery. On their flights to worldwide destinations such as Los Angeles, London, Washington DC, New York, Munich, Zurich and Paris, they will not only carry passengers around the globe, but also the idea behind the UAE. The airline's success story, like that of the UAE, Emirates' home and hub, has developed with inimitable dynamism and resilience in a relatively short space of time. The shape of the number "50", with its elegant and dynamic lines, represents the different stages of the country's history.
"The special livery Golden Jubilee aircraft are inspired by the vision, determination and passion of the UAE's founding fathers and the journey they have undertaken over the past 50 years," said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline & Group. "The next 50 years will be characterized by the same ambition to create a better and sustainable future for humanity," he continued.
The Dubai-based airline is one of the most recognized airline brands today. On board its modern and efficient fleet of 270 wide-body aircraft, Emirates offers its guests excellent comfort and service in many cases, as well as cabin crew from 130 countries.
