Emirates: A380 returns

Flights from Vienna resume in March, and from Munich again in July

With a capacity of up to 853 passengers, the Airbus A380 wide-body long-haul aircraft is the largest series-produced civilian airliner in the history of aviation. With 115 A380 aircraft in its fleet, Emirates is the world's largest operator of this aircraft type. Emirates is now responding to the increased demand from travelers for Dubai flights and is bringing the flagship back to Vienna from 25 to 28 March and from 1 to 11 April. According to current plans, guests wishing to travel from Munich will also be able to do so again with the popular aircraft type in July.

Flights to the Dubai hub

Now that the Maldives have long been considered a safe destination and the Seychelles have also made it easier for international tourists to enter the country, Dubai is becoming increasingly interesting not only as a destination but also as a hub for travelers. Passengers traveling from Vienna can now do so six times a week non-stop with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. From March 25 to 28 and April 1 to 11, the popular A380 will once again be in operation. Before the Easter vacations, the airline is also increasing the frequencies to the popular vacation destinations Maldives and Seychelles from its hub in Dubai.

"We are delighted to be able to operate the Airbus A380 again on the route from Vienna to Dubai. The aircraft is popular with passengers and offers travelers many amenities. The expansion of capacity on the route is a logical response to the continuing increase in demand on the market, which we can now meet," says Martin Gross, Director of Emirates in Austria.

Safety & flexibility

According to current plans, the airline intends to switch back to wide-body aircraft in Munich in July 2021. According to insiders, Munich Airport will remain the only airport in Germany to be served by the A380 for the time being. In addition to Vienna, Munich and Dubai, 16 other airports in cities around the world are to be served in summer 2021.

In addition to the comprehensive package of measures designed to keep employees and travelers safe on every part of their journey, guests booking a trip before 30 September 2021 will benefit from extended rebooking conditions and options if they need to change their travel plans. This includes, for example, the option to change travel dates or extend the validity of the ticket by two years.
